Coronavirus cases on rise again in East Dunbartonshire

Coronavirus cases in East Dunbartonshire are on the rise again.

A few weeks ago, they had fallen to around 90 in 100,000.

But according to Public Health Scotland’s latest data, the seven-day positive based on people tested between December 20th and 26th had risen to 126 in 100,000.

The average area in Scotland had 119.

The total number of positive cases locally was 137.

South Castlehill and Thorn in Bearsden, and Woodhill West in Bishopbriggs are listed as the areas with the highest numbers at the moment.

Sadly, the total number of deaths in East Dunbartonshire has also risen, to 201.

The latest data on the new strain of the virus identified a small cluster at a number of locations in the Glasgow and surrounding areas, which included Lenzie.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will give a Covid update at 3.30pm during a recall of the Scottish Parliament to debate the Brexit bill, which will begin earlier, at 1.30pm.
