East Dunbartonshire in the top 12 areas with the highest number of covid cases

East Dunbartonshire is in the top 12 areas in Scotland with the highest number of coronavirus cases per 100,000, population over the course of seven days.

Data released by the Scottish Government yesterday (Monday, October 5) breaks down the number of positive covid-19 cases per 100,000 people, according to neighbourhood.

East Dunbartonshire recorded 89.3 positive cases of coronavirus per 100,000 people over the period of the week. In total, 97 new positive cases were recorded in this area.

This means the local area is the seventh worse area for cases in the county.

This data is from September 27 to October 3 2020.

Glasgow City remains the worst hit area with 193.3 cases per 100,000 people while at the bottom of the scale, and not included on this list, sit the Orkney Islands and Shetland Islands with no new recorded cases in this time frame.
