You can use this Scotland specific vaccine calculator to see when you might get a Covid jab

A researcher has created a vaccine calculator which allows people in Scotland to see when they might expect to receive the coronavirus vaccine.

After creating a UK-wide vaccine calculator, Dr Steven Wooding has now put together a tool which gets more specific, allowing Scottish residents to see when they might expect to get the jab.

The Omni calculator for Scotland works in much the same way as the UK-wide calculator, asking you questions about your occupation, age and whether you have any medical vulnerabilities.

Taking the nine priority groups into account, the calculator then works out how long you may have to wait to receive your vaccine.

When will I get vaccinated?

The first vaccine was administered in Scotland on 8 December 2020, sparking hope across the UK that the end of the pandemic was in sight.

However, it will be some time before the entire population has been vaccinated, and sections of the population will be worked through in order of highest priority. The priority groups for the UK are as follows:

  1. Residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
  2. All those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers
  3. All those 75 years of age and over
  4. All those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals
  5. All those 65 years of age and over
  6. All individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality. Unpaid carers who receive carer's allowance or are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
  7. All those 60 years of age and over
  8. All those 55 years of age and over
  9. All those 50 years of age and over

The UK government has said it hopes to have offered the vaccine to all UK adults by September 2021, but this will depend on the logistics around rollout, and how quickly the vaccine can be administered across all priority groups.
