A personal trainer from Newton Mearns is ensuring that health and fitness information is accessible to all.

Zayb Abbas who owns Z.A Training & Education, has set up a free community page sharing tips and advice to help Southside residents get fit and healthy.

Zayb said: “I’ve been a personal trainer for around three years now, and I’ve held seminars and events, but I wanted to reach out to the local community which is why I started my website.

“I think that it can be quite daunting for newcomers to head a long to the gym; a lot of the trainers are quite muscular, and in the age of the selfie and posting photos of their bodies it can be quite initimidating.

“I like to believe that I’m there to hold their hand on a more personal level and form a relationship with them.”

Zayb’s website, The Fitness Library, aims to educate and bring together people of all backgrounds, fitness levels and knowledge bases.

Zayb continued: “It is a free community which aims to educate, empower and instil confidence into people.”

Zayb is also running a ladies only bootcamp in Newton Mearns and Giffnock.
