Law doctors surgery is NOT closing

RUMOURS that a Law doctors surgery was to close its doors were described as ‘scaremongering’ by the practice manager.

The Logan Practice, based at Wishaw Health Centre, operates a branch surgery in the village, at Shawfield Crescent, every weekday morning.

However, rumours about the surgery’s future prompted Logan practice manager Sharon McGowan to send a strongly worded email to all four Clydesdale West councillors – Eileen Logan, David Shearer, Pat Lee and Lynsey Hamilton – to vehemently deny any suggestion that the branch surgery would be closed.

Councillor David Shearer told the Gazette that the confusion has arisen because the council’s new Local Plan has the practice zoned as residential rather than being in the village centre.

This simple change from the previous plans has prompted panic.

Councillor Shearer added: “If you are an elderly patient at the surgery then this type of scaremongering is distressing and very irresponsible.”
