Last week Lenzie Bowling Club had the great pleasure of presenting the proceeds of our annual fund raising activities through our mixed charity game and funds gathered in their charity bar bottle. Through the generosity of members, friends, guests and visitors, they raised the great sum of £2.530. Prostate Scotland have expressed their delight with the amazing fundraising efforts of the Club to have been the nominated charity in 2024. Elaine Stewart, whom many might know as late member, Cecil Deacon’s niece, accepted the cheque on behalf on the Charity. The first Living Well with Prostate Cancer course at Maggie’s Glasgow started last week – Prostate Scotland is now working in partnership with all the Maggie’s Centres throughout Scotland, as well as Ayrshire Cancer Support, to provide this invaluable resource for men with prostate cancer. Partners sessions are also run in some Centres to provide much needed support for carers. Prostate Football Fans In Training (PFFIT) is their unique exercise programme for men with prostate cancer run in conjunction with the SPFL Trust, based on their hugely successful Football Fans In Training. PFFIT is currently running at Aberdeen FC, previously having been delivered at Rangers, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone and Hearts.
