Mrs Fellows said: “No words can adequately express the sense of loss and grief my family and I feel since the death of my beloved husband George in St Andrew’s Hospice.

“We want to thank everyone at the hospice, staff at University Hospital Wishaw, our wonderful home support team, our Macmillan nurse, our district nurses and The Logan Practice for their professional and personal care of George.

“Many people have been praying for George and I want to express my appreciation for this and for the cross party support my family and I have received at both Westminster and here at home, which has been wonderful.

“I want, also, to publicly thank my constituency team for the exceptional support they have given me since George was diagnosed with Sarcoma last year.
