The event, held in St Athanasius Hall in Carluke, brings the total raised for the Nell’s Footprints appeal to a stunning £17,628.
It was set up by Braidwood couple Vicky and David Rogers, whose daughter Nell was stillborn at Wishaw General Hospital in January.
The devastated couple were impressed with the support of staff there and of the Sands charity, which supports bereaved families, and they wanted to help.
They decided to raise funds for the room, which will give parents a space to spend time with their baby after such a tragedy.
They have run a few events during the year and donations have come flooding in via Facebook.
But the Nell’s Footprints Charity Fair was their final push – and it was mobbed!
“The fair was brilliant, with a superb selection of stalls selling high quality items,” said Vicky, adding that many people had asked her to make it an annual event.
“I could not have done it without all my helpers,” she said. “I can’t thank them enough.”
Freelance photographer Sarah Peters was on hand to capture the event for the Gazette and her pictures are featured in our slideshow, created for your viewing pleasure by editor Julie Currie.
