New medical hubs for youths could be launched across Glasgow
Advice on issues including emotional and mental health, relationships, sexual health, weight management, drugs and alcohol would be made available.
Aimed at 11 to 18-year-olds, the ‘Youth Health Service’ would also signpost people to support on matters including employability, mentoring and financial inclusion.

It is hoped the plans would make help more accessible for young people. The first two hubs would be set up in the south and north east of the city.
Susanne Millar, of Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “Making services more accessible, acceptable and appropriate to young people is key to early intervention.
“A specific service would address the young person’s immediate clinical and social needs, and encourage them to manage their own well-being by making healthy choices and continuing to engage with health services into adulthood.

If approved, the new service would work in tandem with a young person’s GP and school nurses.
