After her treatment, Pauline was joined by husband Paul, sons Callum (23) and Connor (16) as part of the Bosum Buddies team on the 10 miles Pink Ribbon Walk, raising over £3000.

Pauline nominated herself to be a model which involved writing about her own cancer experience.

She explained: “I thought I needed a new bra not surgery! I had a red blotch on my breast, which I thought might be caused by the wire in my bras, I bought new underwear, but the blotch got bigger.

“My doctor advised me to attend early mammogram screening in my area. I was diagnosed with breast cancer, underwent surgery and radiotherapy.

“I was lucky my tumour was found when it was, I am in no doubt that my story could be so different. I could not tell my mum and dad that I had cancer, my husband Paul had that task.”

Now she is looking forward to celebrating her recovery as a model at the gala dinner.

She said: “I’m really honoured at this. It’s a great ending to what was a difficult time.

“There is one show in the afternoon and one in the evening which is a black tie event and I am taking a table for each show.”

It will be an opportunity to share good times with her family who have given her so much support. Her neighbours in Netherlee have also been supportive throughout.
