In addition to putting on a contest many have deemed the best Commonwealth Games ever, Scotland fielded a truly impressive collection of athletes, winning a record haul of 53 medals, 19 of them gold.

And if all that athletic prowess has inspired you the News and Chronicle has two six week Westerwood Leisure Club memberships to give away to lucky readers.

The Westerwood Leisure Club boasts an advanced gymnasium featuring state of the art equipment. Members can use a wide range of cardiovascular and resistance weights and more. Members also have the opportunity to enjoy spa facilities including jacuzzi, newly fitted sauna, steam room, heated loungers and an ice fountain.

The Westerwood team also organise more than 35 regular classes, including HEAT, Boxercise, Zumba, Yoga and disco spin.

Opening hours are 6.30-10pm Monday to Friday (last entry 9pm) and 8.am-8.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays (last entry 8pm). Members can also sign in guests at £10 for adults or £5 for children.

Membership also includes full tennis court access and a 20 per cent discount at the Flemings and Grill Restaurants.

Package prices vary in cost but six week memberships are retailed at £75 per person.

This competition will be drawn at Westerwood’s open day on Saturday, August 23, featuring the annual charity duathlon (entry £15 inc bbq), this day will let visitors try the leisure club facilities for the day for just £5 with free face painting, kid’s games, bake sale and more.
