Fraser Simpson (12) of Masonfield Avenue in Balloch Eastfield dreamed up streetwise character Velosirapper.
The the judges loved it and as a consequence the design is going on display at a London-based exhibition which Fraser himself will attend this week.
Judge Lauren Haxell of Moshling manufacturer Mind Candy said: “Velosirapper caught our eye, because he’s simply cool!
“Not only does he has a clever name that made us smile, he rocks a bling gold chain that would fit right in with the rest of the Monstro City Moshlings,’’ she said.
Fraser, an ex- Condorrat Primary pupil who is set to transfer to Greenfaulds High School after the holidays said that the inspiration came from his coursework and his outside interests too.
He said: “I’d been doing a science project at school and we were looking at dinosaurs. I really like all kinds of music as well so that helped me put the design together. I did three entries to have a better chance of winning,
Fraser was staying with his gran Elsbeth Edgar in Condorrat when his mum, teacher Alison came round to tell him that Velosirapper had been picked as the winner.
“My mum was so excited that my gran thought we’d won the lottery!’’ said Fraser.
Well maybe not the lottery but talented Fraser has still won £500 of art materials for his former school and £100 of Moshling goodies,
“It’s going to be so cool going down to London and seeing my design,’’ added Fraser.
