The band, who are based mostly in Crawfordjohn, have been building up a steady following over the past few months thanks to their alternative sound.

And they will be looking to build up an even bigger following at one of the best venues in the city.

It has been steady progress for brothers Jamie and Euan Graham, who are both guitarists and vocalists, together with bassist Ruari Douglas and drummer John Galloway, having released their debut self-titled album last year.

Ruari said: “The gig at the ABC is one that we are looking forward to.

“We try to get out there and play as many gigs as we can but this could be our biggest yet.

“We have been together for a while but over the past two years we have really made an effort to work on our live shows.

“We’ve made sure that we are pretty tight and that has made a difference.”

With influences drawn from the likes of Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, Grateful Dead and Frank Zappa, The Franklins recorded their debut album at the well-kent Washoose Studio in Crawfordjohn.

Tracks such as Beauty of the Breakthrough, Tezza Mckezza and Where Were You show off the band’s psychedelic sound perfectly but it is during gigs where The Franklins really come alive.

All The Franklins will be appearing at the O2 ABC2 in Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street alongside The Rain Experiment and Trick Baby on Saturday, May 2, at 7pm.

Tickets, priced £8, are available from the O2 ABC Glasgow website.
