America’s Nels Andrews plays Lanarkshire’s Abington

It’S a long, long way from Brooklyn, New York to Abington, Clydesdale but it’s a journey that American cult folk star Nels Andrews is making on Friday, April 26.

And for his his side man that night, fellow American AJ Roach, it won’t be the first time he’s played in this area, having wowed a crowd 18 months ago at the Abington Hotel.

This time the village’s Masonic Hall will provide the intimate venue for the concert that evening, starting at 8pm.

The frontman this time is Nels, who enjoys a dedicated following for his alternative take on traditional music. His debut album eight years ago got a lot of BBC airplay.

Proceeds from the concert are going to Macmillan Cancer Care.
