Assault with intent to rob in city centre

Police have released an images of a man that officers believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries following an assault with intent to rob in Hope Street, Glasgow.

It happened at about 9.30pm on Monday 30th May and involved a 26 year-old woman who was threatened by a man who demanded her personal property.

Officers are keen to speak to the man shown in the image.

He is described as white, 20 to 30 years old, of slim build, at around 5’10 in height, with short brown hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a light blue T shirt with white stripes (similar to an Argentina football top), dark blue combat shorts, dark trainers and dark glasses on top of his head.

Lead detective DS Raymond Hunter, from the Greater Glasgow Community Investigation Unit, said: “Although physically unharmed, the woman was left in a real state of fear and alarm. No one should have to encounter behaviour like this in our community. I would ask anyone with information relating to this incident to contact police via 101”
