Carluke Jam Festival will sample heritage and music

CARLUKE’S Jam Festival is only a month away and the man behind the event is already looking forward to the two day celebration.

Thom Cross, of Market Place, is hoping that his idea of combining Carluke’s rich jam heritage and music will work well on October 4 and 5.

Having returned to Carluke from Jamaica a number of years ago, 69-year-old Thom felt locals were missing a real sense of community pride – so the Jam Festival was born.

“It is great that we can allow the community to celebrate how important fruit production and jam-making still is to the area.”
