Youngsters aged between two and 13 attempted to find their prize at the event in Sir John Mann Park, with most of them landing a delicious chocolate treat.

“We had a very big turnout this year,” said Garry McCallum, who runs the Carnwath 2000 Facebook page and who took and submitted the pictures to the Gazette.

“The kids absolutely loved what was a cracking day.”

The event also featured another chance for participating youngsters – including Carnwath Primary School kids – to win Easter eggs by attempting to throw coins as near to the eggs as possible from around four feet away.
