Cash boost for ER Good Causes
The Warrior Explorer Scout Unit offers fun, challenge and adventure to young people aged 14 - 18 years throughout East Renfrewshire, together with camps, expeditions and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.
The Unit was fortunate enough to secure can shaking activity at East Kilbride Shopping Centre, and Explorers and Leaders dedicated their weekend to promoting the Unit there, while raising funds for ER Good Causes and WESU
Explorer Scout leader Gordon Jack said: “We are truly enacting the Scout Promise by helping other people while carrying out our programme.
“Not only is this developing young people’s skills, it is also furthering the exceptional work done by a local charity working with people in their time of need.”
Russell Macmillan founder of ERGC said: “It is wonderful to welcome such a dynamic, vibrant Scout group like the 121st Clarkston unit to being an ongoing partner of our local charity.
“We can only really call ourselves a true community, when all parts come together to work for the greater good, in the way this unit has done and will do in the future.
“I would invite all other similar groups within East Renfrewshire to join our collective effort to raise the local standard and show people that they are all valued.
Russell added: “Together we care, together we are stronger.
