Choreographer to the stars Tomas Simon visits Cumbernauld dance school

A local dance school were shown some new moves by a top choreographer to the stars recently.

Tomas Simon visited Dance In Step to host a workshop for 70 students on Saturday, February 23, in Broadwood Stadium. Dancers ranging from eight years old to adults were put to the test by Tomas who has worked with a whole host of stars including Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Alexandra Burke, Cheryl Cole, Peter Andre, The Saturdays and many more.

He been dancing for about 12 years and has trained extensively in LA and all over Europe as well as teaching at London’s famous Pineapple Dance Studios.

Linda McLean, who runs Dance In Step was delighted that Tomas was able to take the workshop.

She said: “I was delighted to be able to offer my students the opportunity to take a class with such an accomplished dancer/choreographer.

“It was a great experience to learn a style which is quite different to what we do normally.

“Tomas is a great teacher and definitely pushed everyone in terms of their ability but I think everyone gained something from taking the classes.”

She added: “I think it’s really important for everyone to experience different style of dance and learn from different teachers as well as see the level of skill and dedication that is involved in being a professional dancer so this is definitely something we will do gain in the future.”
