CLYDESDALE shoppers are being given the chance to try out Fairtrade products this week.

At Carluke’s Market Place Co-op they can taste chocolate, wine, fruit juice or bananas – while in Biggar the focus is totally on wine.

Biggar residents will be able to tell their Chardonnays from their Pinot Grigios with a little help from The Co-operative Membership.

On Thursday, February 27, wine lovers will be able to sample a selection of The Co-op’s award-winning Fairtrade wines from Argentina, at the Corn Exchange, from 7pm until 9pm. Nibbles will also be served.

In Carluke, St Andrew’s Church is working in partnership with the library and with the Co-op in Market Place.

Church volunteers will be in the store from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, March 1, encouraging shoppers to try Fairtrade produce.
