Pupils from Clydesdale also performed with the South Lanarkshire Schools’ Percussion Ensemble and South Lanarkshire Schools’ Big Band.
The high school musicians were drawn from all stages of secondary education with the common thread that they are supported by the council’s instrumental music service which co-ordinates and delivers musical tuition in South Lanarkshire schools.
Executive Director of South Lanarkshire Council Education Resources Tony McDaid said: “The instrumental music service team work hard throughout the year to support and encourage the musical development of our talented pupils.
The annual Showcase gives a well deserved pportunity for those young people to take centre stage.

‘Over and above their regular studies our young musicians are regularly called on to perform within their schools and indeed to represent their school communities and South Lanarkshire on a larger stage at events and competitions nationally and even internationally.
“They are great ambassadors for our area.”
