Students from the Creative Industries faculty at the Cumbernauld Campus will have classes suspended for a week in March for this demanding project.

And they’re on the look-out for local bands who would like to record in the College’s state-of-the-art studios.

The Creative Break project was a huge hit last year in creating videos and singles for four local bands.

Following on from that success, this year’s project will see almost 40 students from the television and sound production courses being split into groups in which they will create music promotion videos for local bands.

The musicians involved will record a single in the music studios with the sound students before going on location with the television students to shoot a video for the track.

By the end of the week, the videos will be ready for release and will be posted online.

Andreas Jonsson, Creative Industries lecturer at New College Lanarkshire, said: “This is a great opportunity for students to work together as a team and test their skills and knowledge.

“Getting the chance to work with emerging talent on an intensive and challenging real-life project is a really exciting challenge.

“The bands who take part will also get the chance to work with the creative practitioners of the future and get a single and video produced to a professional standard.”

Any interested bands who are available during the day from Monday, March 9, to Thursday, March 12, should email [email protected]
