Descendants of New Lanark urged to make Homecoming return

FOR how many people around the globe is New Lanark not just a World Heritage Site but their family’s original ‘home town’?

The answer to that question should become clear in 2014, Scotland’s latest Homecoming Year.

While it has fewer than 200 citizens today, New Lanark’s population has totalled several thousands over its 200-year-plus history – meaning that there are an AWFUL lot of folk on this planet who have their ‘roots’ there.

And, to attract them back for Homecoming, the New Lanark Trust is organising a packed programme of events.
