Douglas Paigie Walk goes from strength to strength

The traditional Douglas Paigie Walk celebrations are getting ever bigger, with 68 men making their way up the hill, on a milder than usual Ne’erday, to partake of the invigorating Paigie Spring.

The tradition began life 30 years ago when a few men from the village decided to take a walk up the hill to blow away the New Year celebrations cobwebs.

It has since grown into a full day out.

Frazer Goodwin did the Paigie Toast and managed to get the large crowd together for a rousing version of the Paigie Water Song.
