Organised by members of Lanark and District Round Table, the family-friendly event is sure to attract another huge crowd to the town’s Moor Park to watch the display.

As with previous years, Lanark and District Pipe Band will be entertaining the crowds before the fireworks light up the night sky.

It will be a busy weekend for Pipe Major David Murdoch and the rest of the band as they are also hosting a Sportsman’s Brunch on Sunday to raise funds for their trip to the Big Apple this year.

There is the opportunity for local schools and groups to take part in the Best Guy competition, with a cash prize for the winner which will be announced on the night.

All Guy entries must be handed in at Moor Park before lunchtime in order to stake a claim of winning the prize.

In a first for the fireworks display, Round Tablers will be providing regular updates throughout the day on its Facebook page on how the huge bonfire is being constructed.
