Aldi’s first Spirits of Scotland Festival showcases a hand-picked selection of the finest spirits from some of the country’s most renowned local distilleries.

The festival takes place in all 87 Aldi stores in Scotland.

Included in the line-up is The Glasgow Distillery’s Banditti Club Spiced Rum, which takes its inspiration from the notorious Banditti Club of the 1790s; a band of bold rogues who would meet in Glasgow’s public houses, drinking and singing late into the night.

Matured and spiced in Glasgow, Banditti Club Spiced Rum is distilled from freshly pressed sugar cane from the island of Madeira.

The rum is then matured for up to 12 months in oak casks before being infused with pineapple, orange, cacao and allspice.

The partnership with Aldi is worth just over £28,000 to the Glasgow-based distillery.

Steven Rankin, Head of Sales at The Glasgow Distillery, said: “It’s great to be working in partnership with Aldi to promote their first ever Spirits of Scotland Festival alongside some of the best craft distillers across the country.

We are delighted to include The Glasgow Distillery’s Banditti Club Spiced Rum in this year’s Spirits of Scotland Festival.”
