Plans for new Asian restaurant near Glasgow Central station rejected

Plans to open a new Asian restaurant, offering noodles, sushi, bao buns and more, near Glasgow Central station, have been refused.

Restaurant chain itsu had wanted to turn the former House of Highlands store on Gordon Street into a new branch.

But council planning officials rejected the plans. They say there are too many food and drink outlets on the street already, and raised concerns about the impact the odour would have on residents living nearby.
