Go doughnut daft or take a walk on the blind side for charity's fundraising week.

Could you take on a charity's ultimate challenge to be blindfolded for up to a day to help raise much-needed funds?

However, the #Blind4Day challenge is not the only way to support Royal Blind Week, which is from February 22 to 29.

You can go doughnut daft with a Krispy Kreme fundraiser, wear outrageous eye makeup to have #AllEyesOnYou or simply take in a collection box to work.

The week is the annual fundraising campaign of Royal Blind, the Edinburgh-based charity that provides a number of services for blind and partially sighted children and adults across the country, including the Royal Blind School in the capital.

It takes £1510 to provide just one hour of Royal Blind’s services and donations help ensure they can continue.

Royal Blind Week is supported by Libby Clegg, 2014 Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, Royal Blind Ambassador and former Royal Blind School pupil.

Libby said: “Having benefited from the incredible services that Royal Blind provide, I now have the honour of being an Ambassador and ask that you take part in Royal Blind Week and help raise much needed funds.

“Our fundraising pack outlines the different ways you can get involved. I would like to thank you for your help because, without your support and generosity, Royal Blind could not continue to help blind and partially sighted people achieve their potential. Please help us make a difference.”

The #Blind4Day challenge involves getting sponsored to go a lunch hour, afternoon or even a whole day blindfolded.

Davina Shiell, marketing manager for Royal Blind, said: “There are many ways for people to get involved and help raise money. Ideas range from signing up to our Krispy Kreme fundraising scheme, being sponsored to wear outrageous eye make-up for the day, displaying our self-assembly collection box in your shop or workplace, to taking on our #Blind4Day challenge.

“It is thanks to the public’s support and generosity that Royal Blind can work to help blind and partially sighted people achieve their potential.”
