Organisers are looking at making this autumn’s two-day event a Jam and Ham Festival, also paying tribute to Ramsay’s of Carluke bacon curers which has been based in the town for more than 100 years.

Carluke Development Trust treasurer Jean Douglas said: “Carluke people take great pride in their jam-making heritage and I think they’d also appreciate extra recognition for the town’s award-winning bacon curers.

Ramsay’s managing director Andrew Ramsay said: “I’d be happy to support something which brings the community together.”
