LAMS will be doing their version of Our House at the Memorial Hall in March next year and are on the look-out for talented locals to be part of the musical which features songs from the legendary 70/80s band Madness.

Auditions for the show will be held in the Tolbooth in December and LAMS member Melissa Reilly is hoping that the interest generated from doing their version of Our House will see more people looking to take part.

She said: “All the parts are still available so everyone can be involved whether it be in a bigger role or as part of the chorus. Already we’ve had interest from people all over Lanarkshire

“Since we decided to do Our House we have had a lot of nice feedback from people because we are doing something very contemporary and everyone will recognise the songs in the show.

“Our House has had a really good run in the West End and was named best new musical when it was released so it’s a superb show.”

Our House features all the ska band’s classic hits including Embarrassment, Driving In My Car, House of Fun and Night Boat To Cairo.

The story follows Camden lad Joe Casey who, on the night of his 16th birthday, makes a decision that will change his life.

Trying to impress Sarah, the girl of his dreams, Joe breaks into a building development.

But things take a turn for the worse as the police turn up. Joe’s life splits into two; the Good Joe who stays and gives himself up and Bad Joe who flees and leaves Sarah to run from the police.

Our House follows the two paths that Joe’s life could take after that fateful night.
