Heavy metal heaven at this year’s Les Fest

THE normally tranquil Clyde Valley was transformed into a heavy metal heaven last weekend as the second annual Les Fest Festival took place.

Valley International Park was once again the venue for Les Fest, which was such a big hit with festival goers last year.

It was so good in fact that it won Best Musical Event of the Year at the 2012 Scottish New Music Awards.

This time around, organiser Dave Ritchie and his team brought a total of 60 bands together for the 2013 festival.

And the hundreds of fans who turned up to see a mix of established and new acts were definitely not disappointed by the blistering sets.

Among the bands who were rocking throughout the weekend were Triaxis, Fighting Wolves and State of Panic.
