Here come the girls

GIRLS Aloud are back in the charts – and back in town.

One of the UK’s most successful girl groups, the talent show favourites returned to the stage as a group for BBC’s Children in Need in November.

It’s been a long time coming, with the five piece taking a number of years out to focus on solo projects: Nicola with a career in fashion and beauty, Kimberley (almost) conquering the floor on Strictly Come Dancing and Cheryl popping up in...well...everything (although we’ll leave the American X Factor debacle to one side).

The girls (should it be women now?) will be kick-starting many a Glaswegian’s weekend as they play the SECC on Saturday and Sunday, showcasing the songs from their second greatest hits album released last November.

It’s a sure-fire pop party guaranteed to have fans dancing in the aisle – and right on into the clubs after (assuming they’re old enough by now).

n Girls Aloud appear at the SECC on March 9-10. Doors open at 7pm. To find out more, call 0844 395 4000 or visit www.ticketsoup.com.
