Hunt is on for young musical talent to star at Supershow

THE SEARCH is under way to uncover the musical talent among Lanarkshire secondary school pupils to give them the chance to take centre stage at the Lanarkshire Supershow 2011.

The 15th annual star-studded show is again being organised by Supercounty, the Lanarkshire Civic Pride Campaign, and will take place in Hamilton Town House on Tuesday, November 15.

Supercounty chairman Ian Livingstone said: “Invitations have gone out to all schools – this is an opportunity now for parents, friends and relatives wishing to nominate musically talented pupils to be considered for audition.

“The invitation is again open to singers, dancers and musicians – from first to sixth year.

“The quality and versatility of the musical talent these young people display is quite incredible and I’m looking forward to seeing and hearing the fresh crop of musical talent to emerge in 2011.”

Wednesday, September 21, is the deadline for pupils to be allocated a slot for the auditions to be held at Cardinal Newman High School, Bellshill, on Monday, October 3, and Tuesday, October 4.

Parents, friends and relatives wishing to nominate pupils to take part should contact Supershow co-ordinator Karen Lambie on 01698 742050 or e-mail her at [email protected].
