Over the last seven years, thousands of kind hearted Scots have pulled on some tartan, laced up their boots and put their best foot forward for families who have a child with a life-shortening condition, raising over £500,000 for CHAS.

Over 400 CHAS supporters took part in a Kiltwalk in 2017 across in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh which each offer three distances, the Mighty Stride, Big Stroll and Wee Wander. A whopping £120,000 was raised last year pushing the total raised to more than half-a-million pounds.

Scott Maxwell, outdoor event coordinator at CHAS, said: “I want to say 500,000 ‘thank yous’ to every single person who has helped us raise this amazing total by challenging themselves and taking on a Kiltwalk event since 2011.

“Last year alone, Team CHAS totted up a jaw dropping 6,835 miles! We are so grateful to our walkers, to the Kiltwalk for delivering a fun, safe and exciting walk year on year, and also to the generous Hunter Foundation who last year topped up funds from supporters by 40 per cent!

“The funds and awareness raised by events like the Kiltwalk help us on our mission to reach every single baby, child and young person who needs us, and offer our support and care to them and their whole family.”

If you would like to sign up for a Kiltwalk event this year and help CHAS in their mission, pick from Glasgow (April 29), Aberdeen (June 3), Dundee (August 19) or Edinburgh (September 16) at www.thekiltwalk.co.uk.
