The event was declared a triumph by the 84 players from 12 competing teams from the UK and the Republic of Ireland and their 100 supporters and caddies.

Bonnyton Ladies have a small section who worked tirelessly over the past few months with wonderful support from the board and members to make sure visitors were given a fantastic Scottish welcome.

Some 116 guests attended a delicious pre-tournament dinner at the club where guests were welcomed by a piper and were then treated to a party atmosphere full of fun, laughter and song.

Stewart MacDonald, Bonnyton’s head greenkeeper, and his staff did a superb job of presenting the golf course and making sure it was ready for the competition after the long, cold and wet winter.

The sun shone from the minute the tournament started on Thursday, right through the day, and the magnificent golf course, with it’s beautiful views, was the backdrop to some really fantastic golf.

The star of the day was Judy Byrne Murray, from Edmondstown, Dublin who won the Singles Gross Trophy with a stunning score of 81.
