Lanark Chess Club to run first Lanark Open tournament

LANARK Chess Club is running an ‘open’ chess tournament in the Tolbooth on Monday evenings over five weeks, the first Lanark Open.

In addition to the club’s own members, the tournament has attracted players from other Lanarkshire clubs and from as far afield as Glasgow, Irvine and Broxburn. In total 22 players are competing for a modest prize fund and, more importantly, for the honour of becoming the winner of the inaugural Lanark Open.
