Lanark Musical Society to perform Madness musical

LANARK Amateur Musical Society members are urging all nutty boys and girls to join them as they prepare for next year’s show featuring songs from 80’s chart-toppers Madness.

Our House features all the ska band’s classic hits including Embarrasment, Driving In My Car, House of Fun and Night Boat To Cairo.

LAMS committee member Melissa Reilly said: “After the last couple of shows, which have been a bit more traditional, we felt that it was time to do something more modern.

“The songs work really well in a musical theatre environment and we hope that because they are really well known it will encourage more people to come and be part of the show.

“A few of the cast have already seen the show and can’t wait to get started on producing it.”

There is a welcome night for anyone interested in joining the cast on Tuesday, September 30, in Lanark Tolbooth at 7.30pm.

Following that, the first rehearsal will be on Tuesday, October 7, again in the Tolbooth at 7.30pm.
