Thanks to Big Lottery funding of £7,150 and with the support of R&W Scott jam-makers, the festival will go ahead on October 4 and October 5 and there will be plenty on offer for the whole family, day and night.

There will be Jampionships (or jam-making competitions to the uninitiated) and pub jams, with master classes in jam-making in addition to some marvellous music.

It will encompass performances from local school choirs on the Friday afternoon and showcase Carluke’s talented musicians in local pubs.

All the events are geared to embracing local community, talent and produce, but Roddy Woomble of Idlewild will head up the Saturday concert, hosted by Clyde One DJ Jim Gellatly.
