1. You have had a longterm involvement with the Rotary Club. What’s been the most rewarding aspect of that?

The opportunity Rotary provides to be of service locally, nationally and internationally.

2.If money were no object what would you do with the rest of your life?

Become a philanthropist.

3. What’s your favourite place in the whole world?

Fort Lauderdale, in Florida or the Carron Valley at sunset.

4. What’s been the greatest moment in your professional career?

Receiving an award for services to those with learning difficulties - or receiving my CBE from the Queen.

5. Tell us something surprising about yourself.

I used to play guitar in a group called Alan Colt and the 45s - and I met Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr in a record shop in Aberdeen.

7.Who is your inspiration?

My late father who said: ‘‘Remember Frank you can have everything taken from you but only you can give up your integrity.’’

8.What in your view is the key to success in life?

Ambition hard work and integrity.

9. What qualities do you most admire in a friend?

Loyalty and honesty.

10.Your new year’s resolution?

I don’t drink or smoke, so I suppose it’s to get fit and lose weight - again!
