Could you offer 30 minutes of your time each week to support local walking groups in East Renfrewshire?

East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership in collaboration with Paths for All and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, have a range of walking groups for adults across East Renfrewshire and they are looking for Walk Leader Volunteers to help run these groups.

Walking has a range of physical and mental benefits and through the help of our Walk Leader Volunteers, the aim is to encourage people to become active and stay active through walking.

The walks are short, safe, social, local, low level and currently held in Rouken Glen Park, Cowan Park, Eastwood Park, as well as across Giffnock, Barrhead, Newton Mearns and Neilston.

New walk leader volunteers will receive free training with a range of opportunities that will include volunteer walk leader training to help lead a healthy walk, ongoing support and free heart start training.

Future opportunities also include free dementia friendly walk training, free Macmillan East Ren training, and strength and balance training.
