Veteran Americana guitarist Sam, who released his most recent album Say Grace last year, is coming to Clydesdale as part of the Americana Autumn series of gigs organised by The Wee Gig founder David Lindsay.

David aims to bring quality live music to the nine villages which make up Glencaple and Lowther.

That will certainly be the case when Sam is ably-supported by singer Carrie Elkin and keyboard player Chip Nolan.

David said: “Sam has been around for a long time and I’ve seen him perform on a number of occasions.

“To get him to come to Abington is a coup for us. I would say people are coming to see the very best Americana has to offer.

“Sam has got a pretty unusual style but his songs are absolutely superb.”

The autumn series has seen a number of acts from across the Atlantic grace stages across the wee villages.

David added: “This is the second year we’ve done The Wee Gig and it really is giving local people the chance to see some high quality music on their doorstep which doesn’t happen very often.”

Sam Baker, with support from Carrie Elkin and Chip Nolan, will play Abington Village Hall on Friday, November 14, at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £12, are available now from Abington General Store, Ajay’s in Crawford, Arcadia Music in Biggar or by calling 07966 243587. For more information visit www.theweegig.co.uk.
