Steve Evetts wins Carnwath Red Hose Race
JUBILANT Carnwath man Steve Evetts got the coveted red stockings after Saturday’s three-mile Red Hose Race – yet it wasn’t Steve who had just won the historic contest.
The world’s oldest foot race was won by Luke Foss, but he isn’t a local resident and so couldn’t receive the main prize.
That honour went to second-placed Steve, who also scooped £100 in prizemoney at an event held as part of Carnwath Show.
