What’s on in Clydesdale on Saturday?

CROWDS of shoppers will hit Lanark High Street today as the town’s Christmas Market and lights switch-on is held - but there are plenty of other events across Clydesdale today as well.

The market will be held from 9am to 5pm with the lights switch-on taking place at the end of the festivities.

During the market itself Cats Protection Lanarkshire volunteers will host a Homing Show in St Nicholas Church Hall from 1pm to 4pm.

The recent wet weather will not put off members of the St John’s Church Trekkers who will be walking around Biggar and Broughton this morning.

The countdown to Christmas is well and truly on and Blackwood Community Wing will be the venue for the local Parent and Toddlers Group’s Christmas Fete which is open from 10am to 2pm.

A charity fair will be held in St Athanasius Church Hall in Carluke from 11am to 3pm. The Nell’s Footprint fundraiser will feature local crafters, jewellery makers and Christmas gifts.

In the evening, the Biggar Little Cinema season continues when the Oscar-nominated Gravity is broadcast at Biggar Corn Exchange at 7.30pm.

And the winter nights may be drawing in but there will be plenty of Summer Lovin at Lanark Memorial Hall as Sing-a-long-Grease is staged there from 7.30pm.
