Members of Biggar Ramblers will be up bright and early for their 8.5 mile walk around Law and Carluke; Ramblers should be at the Corn Exchange in Biggar for 9.15am.

The Scottish Snowdrop Festival begins in Clydesdale with the garden opening at Cleghorn Farm, near Lanark from 2pm to 4pm.

The Scotland wide event includes some gardens and estates which have opened exclusively for the festival to show off blankets of snowdrops set in some of the country’s loveliest natural surroundings. See the Snowdrop festival website for all the information.

Over in Carluke St Andrew’s Church Hall, in Mount Stewart Street, is the venue for a tea dance with acclaimed musician Gordon Cree; the fun kicks-off from 2pm.

And over in the Carluke Lifestyles Centre, a open afternoon is being held on behalf of Carluke Primrose Orchestral Flutes from 2.30pm.
