What’s On in Clydesdale today

WITH Biggar Little Festival in full swing there is no shortage of events for you to enjoy in Clydesdale today.

All weekend there are various open studios with plenty of talented Clydesdale artists throwing their studio doors open to the public.

Antique enthusiasts can head over to Biggar Kirk from 10.30am where experts from Edinburgh auction house Lyon & Turnbull will value them for you.

Other events in the afternoon include the Albion Museum Open Day, a Build-a-Bear teddy making workshop, an afternoon concert with Alison Bishop and the lunch and llama walk at Feufield Farm.

In the evening, Biggar Theatre Workshop presents The Cripple of the Inishmaan, guitarist Andy Fairweather Low will be strutting his stuff in the Municipal Hall and the Festival Club in the Elphinstone Hotel will round the days events off.

However, it isn’t all about Biggar today.

In Carluke the United Reformed Church host its Soup and Sweet Lunch from 11.30am to 1.30pm and the town’s Gala Committee is holding a fun afternoon at the Lifestyles Centre from noon until 3pm.

In Lanark the Greyfriars Church Harvest Sale takes place in the Tolbooth from 10am and in the evening tribute acts ranging from Dolly Parton to the Beatles will be on stage in the Memorial Hall for Rolling Back The Years.

Finally, a charity night in aid of Cancer Research UK is being held in Coalburn Miners Welfare from 7.30pm.
