A summer programme full of fun kids activities

It's all happening in Hillhead and Lennoxtown for children and families this summer with weekly activities to keep you busy and beat the boredom.

There will be plenty of fun for big ones and little ones alike with some exciting events planned by East Dunbartonshire Council in partnership with East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust and East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership (EDHSCP).

The programme includes: Learn to ride a bike with Sustrans at Hillhead Primary on Wednesday 6 July and 3 August from 10am to 11am and Lennoxtown Primary on Tuesday 5 July from 9.30am-10.30am. Adults and over 5s welcome. Bikes will be provided youngsters can bring their own.

Learn Bikeability skills with Sustrans in a safe, traffic free setting at Hillhead Primary on Wednesday 13 July and 10 August from 10am-11am and at Lennoxtown Primary on Tuesday 12 July, 2 August and 9 August from 9.30am-10.30am. Adults and over 5s welcome. Bikes will be provided or again participants can bring their own.

Summer sport fun with EDLC Trust and EDHSCP at Hillhead Primary on Wednesday 6 July, 13 July, 3 August and 10 August from 11.15am-12.45pm and Lennoxtown Primary on Tuesday 5 July, 12 July, 2 August and 9 August between 12.30pm - 2pm. Come along and have fun with games and sports activities. Open to all 5-15 year olds.

Councillor Rhondda Geekie, Chair of the Community Planning Partnership, said,: “This is a fun summer programme with something to suit all tastes and ages. It helps everyone make the most from their well-earned holidays and gives them the opportunity to try something new and expand their interests with a host of exciting and imaginative events. We hope people will come along and join in the fun.”
