Academy pupils mark record exam results

A delighted head teacher has congratulated pupils, staff and parents for working so hard to deliver a record set of exam results.

Lenzie Academy pupils excelled in the 2015 SQA exams, with 42 per cent of fifth year pupils achieving five Higher Grades (A-C) and 77 per cent of fourth year pupils achieving five or more passes at National 5 (A-C) when the results were sent out recently.

This represented a third consecutive year of continual improvement in the quality of results achieved by the school at all levels.

Head teacher Brian Paterson told the Herald: “All staff within the school are extremely proud of our pupils for attaining such impressive SQA results.

“We expected them to do very well this year but they have surpassed our expectations, delivering significant improvements on what have been already excellent results achieved by the school over the past few years.

“My congratulations go to all pupils, parents and staff who have collectively worked so hard to deliver these results.”

A total of 25 pupils achieved a nine National 5 awards at A grade, while another 24 pupils achieved five A grade Higher awards.

Meanwhile, 51 per cent of S4 pupils achieved eight or more National 5 awards (A-C) and 37 per cent achieved nine National 5 awards (A-C).

In S5 81 per cent achieved at least one Higher and 57 per cent earned three of more Highers.
