The 16-year-old was seen passing cannabis to one of his co-accused as they attended a pre-trial hearing at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

He was arrested and appeared in the dock the next day. The youth, who cannot be named because he is under 18, admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis resin on February 25. He was the subject of four separate bail orders at the time.

Sheriff John Miller put him under supervision for 12 months and ordered him to carry out 170 hours of unpaid work within six months.

The youth was back in the dock with his co-accused, aged 17, and Jordan Davidson (18), formerly of Motherwell and now of Laggan Path, Shotts.

All three were accused of assaulting Siva Siringar, searching his car and pocket, and robbing him of money in Merry Street, Motherwell, in November 2014.

However, their not guilty pleas were accepted. The trio admitted shouting, swearing and striking the doors and windows of the vehicle.
