Community Council chairman Graeme Riddell highlighted a number of areas of concern throughout the village at the community council’s most recent meeting.

It was noted that there were various pavements in need of replacement, the most prominent coming from Milton Primary School up Strathaven Road.

And community council members were unhappy about various fly tipping sites, mounting up around the outskirts of Lesmahagow and Coalburn.

In particular the stretch of road at Shoulderigg Road and Hollandbush Golf Club, the road between Auldton and Coalburn Road and a corner between Strathaven Road and Lesmahagow Road.

Graeme Riddell said: “I think these concerns have to be highlighted.

“The fly tipping in particular is horrendous and should be stopped.”
