Ailsa plays lead in post-apocalypse game movie

A Shawlands actress plays the lead role in a multi-awardwinning film that has been released online.

Rainbow Cups is a folk game involving bottletops and bluffing, played in refugee camps after the fall of civilisation, as portrayed in a thrilling new short film by Ian Hendry, produced by the Glasgow Film Crew, released online on 24 Feb 2015.

Leading actress Ailsa Lonsdale, lives in Shawlands.

As a child, Ailsa attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts taking lessons in acting, singing and modern dance.

She moved to Glasgow earning her diploma in acting and performance at Reid Kerr.

Rainbow Cups was voted Best Short Film of the Month in October 2014 at GMAC Film’s Café Flicker, and runner-up for Best Short Film of the Year at the end of the year.

Glasgow Film Crew won Best Title Sequence for their submission to the 48 Hour Film Project Glasgow in 2014 and won Best Writing and Best Use of Line of Dialogue in 2013.
